Landscapes from Above

From Above is a distinctive series shaped by Sabine’s fascination with the earth’s landscapes and the creative influence of her father and mentor, artist Eric van Terwisga.

Inspired by views of the earth seen from an aeroplane window, the paintings transform coastlines, rock formations, forests, and water into richly textured landscapes that move between abstraction and recognition. From a distance, new shapes and stories gradually emerge.

Every painting is created intuitively in the moment, guided by Sabine’s heart, hands, and emotions. The spontaneous layering of colours, textures, and movements makes each work entirely unique. No painting can ever be recreated in exactly the same way each one carries its own character, energy, and story.
